Reeds and Reed PansReed Pans Summary: Conventional radial pans with the central hole offset towards the smaller chambers now in a shallow and symmetrical layout. Pan inset flush to bellows-frame, and with narrow dividers clad in conventional yellow chamois. The pans are flush to the bellows-frame and reed-pans. Reed Pans Main Labels: No circular pan label on this instrument. Reed Pans Stamps: L & R twice Reed Pans Serial Numbers: Batch Number of the instrument "3", In pencil within topmost reed chamber, with Serial Number 20030 added in pencil on the inner face. Reed Pans Gasketry: pale yellow chamois Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 5 Wooden cross-pieces, (superceding the previous use of cork cross-pieces), each chamois-capped, on top chambers Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: LH: 5 wooden cross-pieces, (superceding the previous use of cork cross-pieces), each chamois-capped, on top chambers Reeds Summary: 96 wedge profiled, long-scale round-ended brass reed frames, 24 on each side of each reed pan. Round-end frames, with all steel tongues each secured by a single small domed steel rivet - another early appearance in the Collection's Wheatstones of this fixing style. .
