Reed Pans Further Labels: Very faint and small note-names have been added in pencil to the outer edge of each reed chamber, possibly to aid the tuner in allocating reeds to the correct chambers. Reed Pans Stamps: L & R Reed Pans Serial Numbers: 317, stamped once in outer top chambers. Reed Pans Gasketry: Pale yellow Chamois Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 4 chamois-topped cork crosspieces in small reed-chambers, plus extra cork only piece, and two further wide cork cross-pieces in the outer edge of two small reed-chambers. Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: LH: 4 chamois-topped cork crosspieces in small reed-chambers. Reeds Summary: Square-end brass beds, with nickel tongues, (one tongue broken) secured with two tall and domed brass screws, securing a brass cross-piece: many of the reeds' cross-pieces have Open-Sides to the screw areas, a feature that has been linked to early parts suppliers and manufacturers such as Nickolds.
