Reeds and Reed Pans

Reed Pans Summary: Full width rectilinear arrangement of reed chambers, with mahogany chamber dividers.

Reed Pans Main Labels: Inked L & R on outer faces.

Reed Pans Gasketry: Pale chamois

Reeds Summary: 40 wedge profiled round-ended brass reed frames, 10 on each side of each reed pan. Round-end frames, with steel tongues each secured by two tall domed brass screws. The reeds have the unusual open-sided tongue-securing cross pieces, in common usage on Nickolds instruments. Unusually, NO note names stamped on each reed-frame.

Reed Tongue Material: Steel Tongues.

Reed Frame Shape: Round-ended

Reed Tongue Profile: parallel

Reed Securing Screws: Two brass screws per reed.

Stamps on Reed Frames: NO note names on reeds.
