Item Type: Cartoon

Summary

Full Description: An original humorous cartoon from Punch, dated August 25th, 1883, of two reformed rogues trying not to 'case' likely houses for theft, with one playing "a warning flourish on the concertina". An example of the marked downward social mobility of the concertina, and the change in the public's perception of the instrument in the later Victorian era.
