Item Type: Music - General

Summary

Full Description: One of two large and well-filled leather bound music books, with pieces probably published between 1815 to 1840, by a wide ranging cross-section of London's Regency era music publishers and dealers. Though there are no concertina pieces within these volumes, many names that would become associated with the concertina appear (either as makers, dealers who added their names to other makers' instruments, or as concertina music publishers); there are pieces from Keith, Prowse & Co (Makers and Dealers), Boosey & Co., T Prowse at 13 Hanway Street, Nicholson's Flute Manufactory, and Metzler & Co (concertina dealers).
