Action Board Sub-fret Baffles: Hexagonal sub-fret fine-grained pine baffles, each secured with FOUR blued-steel end-screws into FOUR cylindrical support pillars.This instrument has the white Chamois baffle from a later concertina, (Serial No 5335 still visible), inserted below each end's Pine Baffle and above the pallets, possibly to add a muffling effect.
