Action Board

Action Board Summary: The instrument's Action is made up of a slotted brass sheet plate, vertical slot, Wound-brass springs, and brass-sheet levers, broader within the pivot area, and the pallets are now circular pale cardboard, a material used on almost all subsequent instruments. This instrument has the white Chamois baffle from a later concertina, (Serial No 5335 still visible), inserted below each end's Pine Baffle and above the pallets, possibly to add a muffling effect.

Action Board Pivot: Later pattern, of brass sheet with vertical slot

Action Board Levers: Brass sheet levers, thicker through pivot slot

Action Board Springs: brass

Action Board Pallets: 24 per Side, Small pale cardboard pallets, all of similar size

Action Board Securing-screw pattern: Four wooden cylindrical supports receiving the four screws from strap, finger-rest, and top & bottom of the circular key plate area.

Action Board Sub-fret-board Supports: Tripod of three rectangular pillars
