End Frets

Summary: Rectangular rosewood ends, with side-frames down to bellows-frame, in the manner and profile of the earliest German concertinas. Large holes for the leys, and a small lenticular-shaped area or simple fretwork below thw hand-bar, with an area of sub-fret chamois baffle behind it.

End Shape: Rectangular

End Sides: Four

End Diameter: 114 wide x 150mm tall

End-Profile: Flat solid rosewood ends, glued atop rosewood-veneered softwood end-frames.

End Material: Simple machine-cut fret area.

End Bolts: Four Dome-topped woodscres per side, (two absent from RH.).

End Stamps / Labels: The label "By her Majesty's Letters Patent, C Wheatstone & Co, Inventors, 20 Conduit Street, London" is stamped into the varnish on the RH fretwork.

Strap Screw-insert type: Into end-frame woodwork.

Fret Condition: Fine

Damage Summary: Top case strap missing.
