Action Board

Action Board Summary: In a continuing move away from the earlier complex arrangements of levers and pivots, blued steel springs and bone or brass pallets, this instrument's Action is made up of a slotted pivot column with wound-steel springs, and brass-sheet levers, broader within the pivot area, and the pallets are now circular cardboard, a material used on almost all subsequent instruments.

Action Board Pivot: This instrument's Action uses slotted pivot columns

Action Board Levers: This instrument's Action includes brass-sheet levers, broader within the pivot area,

Action Board Springs: Coiled steel springs.

Action Board Pallets: The pallets are circular pale cardboard.

Action Board Securing-screw pattern: Trio of wooden cylindrical supports receiving the three screws from strap, finger-rest and top fret area.

Action Board Sub-fret-board Supports: 3 Rectangular chamois-clad pillars, in three of the outer corners of the action board tray.
