Main Case: Original hexagonal softwood case, clad in dark varnished linen, and with unusual shiny glazed fabric lining. No lock cartouche. Original leather and fabric-lined top-strap, unbroken (rare to find!) though small crack across leather

Main Case Hinges: Two Brass hinges, each with four steel screws, stamped “P Moore Registered, 1843”.
Main Case Straps: Top strap present, and in fairly original condition. (very rare for top-straps to survive unbroken!).
