Label Within Cartouche on chamois baffle: Oval paper label, beneath oval Cartouche, glued upon replacement sub-fret chamois baffle.
Serial Number Under Frets: 294, on inner edge of fret frame.
Serial Number On Action Board: 294, on upper rim only of action board.
Serial Number On Pans: 294 Once only, near central hole on inner face of each reed pan.
Serial Number On Bellows Frame: 294, faintly in pencil on the remnants of the original pine baffles (now crudely glued into the bellows-frames at each end).
Dealer's Labels Summary: An oval dealer's label of R J Ward & Sons, 10, St Anne Street, a few doors from Islington, Liverpool is applied to an upper bellows paper. A further late period Lachenal & Co, Patent Concertina Manufacturers, London label was found glued over the original Scates Dublin label within the RH embouchure.
