Labels and Serial Numbers

Label Within Cartouche on Pine Board: There are no label or number cartouches in the fine-cut frets, instead the RH label is an applied gilt on black label glued to the top area, and there is an impressed John Alvey Turner stamp to the lower LH fret corner, and in the centre of the lid of the case.

Label Mounted on end: There are no label or number cartouches in the fine-cut frets, instead the RH label is an applied gilt on black label glued to the top area, and there is an impressed John Alvey Turner stamp to the lower LH fret corner.

Other Serial Numbers: No 7 on bellows inner face of pans, and inner face of action.

Serial Number Under Frets: No external numbers, no label or number cartouches in fretwork.

Serial Number On Action Board: No Serial number on outer action board, just "L" or "R" on outer rims. The L or R is tamped on on the inner face of each action, together with a hand-inked No 7.

Serial Number On Pans: Serial number 7 inked on internal face of pans only, together with "L" or "R" and "J Scates".

Serial Number On Bellows Frame: Serial number 7, inked large on top inner bellows boards.
