Reeds and Reed Pans

Reed Pans Summary: Two pairs per end of brass multi-tongued reed-plates, secured to a slightly raised action frame on the inner face of each Lever/Pan Board.

Reed Pans Main Labels: Small oval stamps into the pan-metals of "Henry Harley Maker London" , with larger stamps into the wood on the inner pan area of "Henry Harley Maker".

Reed Pans Stamps: Large stamps into the wood on the inner pan area of "Henry Harley Maker".

Reeds Summary: 26 steel tongues per end, 13 on either side of the reed-plates: two pairs of the reed are mounted on added smaller plates to either end of the upper plate, for keys "11" and "12".

Reed Frame Material: Brass reed-plates, with two extra nickel plates per end.

Reed Tongue Material: Steel.

Reed Frame Shape: Large rectangular brass sheet.

Reed Tongue Profile: Tapered, very broad steel.

Reed Securing Screws: A single steel rivet secures each reed-tongue.

Stamps on Reed Frames: Oval inset maker's stamp "Henry Harley London maker".
