Item Type: Band - Manningham Concertina Band

Summary

Full Description: One of a series of five early 20th century images of the Manningham Concertina Band, active in the Cleckheaton area of Yorkshire. These were acquired via a descendant of one of the last players in the band, who was selling off a remaining concertina to a local dealer. This later oval and posed photograph feature three smartly-dressed, Brylcreemed and well-collared young boys, all holding three-row Anglo concertinas. Information from the vendor suggests they may be the children of some of the Band-members in the other four images in this group.
