Reeds and Reed PansReed Pans Summary: Radial standard pan. A first appearance of full-width inner pan baffles on Case and Case/Boosey instruments; The 138mm diameter fine-grained pine baffles are supported clear of the inner reeds by a trio of tall threaded brass bolts, and held in position by two brass washers either face of the board. Many later Case-named productions have such pan-baffles, or have pans with a full array of reed-chambers added to their inner pan-faces. Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH: 4 white smooth chamois-topped cork cross-pieces in small reed-chambers. Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: LH: 4 white smooth chamois-topped cork cross-pieces in small reed-chambers. Reeds Summary: Round-end Brass, with Brass tongues and screws, securing a brass cross-piece: some steel tongue replacements. No Open-Side cross-pieces.
