Summary: Very early pattern of hexagonal flat single layered rosewood. Deep sided, with the sides lapping over the raised action "nest Frame". The ends have mounting slats around their underside, which assits the ends to nest into the action frame.

End-Profile: Flat
End Material: Single-ply, very bleached rosewood, and rosewood-veneered sides.
End Bolts: Very flat cheese-head brass bolts.
End Stamps / Labels: Oval silver plaque, "His Maj" engraving, screwed to the end with two small blued steel screws, but upside down when compared to all other silver plaque labelling.
Label Embouchure Pattern: None
Finger-rest: Long curved-end brass, with remnants of green leather cladding.
Fret Condition: Some damage to LH, and end-sheet lifting from inner mounting slats at corners.
Damage Summary: Good: Straps absent, some fret damage.
