Reeds and Reed Pans

Reed Pans Summary: Very simple radial pans with large central hole, inset flush to bellows-frame, and with narrow dividers. The pans are flush to the bellows-frame and reed-pans.

Reed Pans Serial Numbers: 247 Twice in top chambers

Reed Pans Right Hand Cross Pieces: RH - 5 x Cork, LH - 8 x Cork, all at top reed chambers.

Reed Pans Left Hand Cross Pieces: RH - 5 x Cork, LH - 8 x Cork, all at top reed chambers.

Reeds Summary: 48 pairs of wedge profiled, square-ended reeds, brass frames and nickel tongues each secured by two brass screws. Traces of rusted stapled pins over the inner reeds in the pan coprners where they tongues are likely to touch the bellows corner-folds.

Reed Frame Material: Tapered brass reed frames.

Reed Tongue Material: Nickel.

Reed Frame Shape: Tapered, and square-ended.

Reed Tongue Profile: Parallel

Reed Securing Screws: Two brass securing screws.

Stamps on Reed Frames: Note names on frames, and stamped in ink on pans in the chambers adjacent to outer reeds
